Letter to readers: Changes for a stronger future

For more than 70 years, the Press-Republican has grown along with Plattsburgh and its surrounding communities.

For decades, we’ve watched over our neighbors, provided a record of history and helped business flourish.

To ensure that our commitment to award-winning news and top-notch customer service continues, we are changing our subscription plan. Once activated, all current print subscribers will be Press-Republican Total Access members.

The Press-Republican Total Access plan gives you:

▶ Home delivery of the newspaper — on days you select for your subscription — with must-read news, local sports, community events and advertising.

▶ The E-Edition, a complete digital replica of our daily newspaper.

▶ Complete access to enhanced content at, including breaking news, videos, photo galleries and social commenting, on personal computers and iPhone, Android and tablet devices.

There will be a small rate adjustment with your next renewal. For example, if you are a seven-day subscriber, the increase will be only about 8 cents per day.

Unlimited access to our digital content, including our website, will no longer be free to non-subscribers. After a limited number of page views per month on, non-subscribers will be offered the opportunity to enroll in the Press-Republican Total Access plan or our Digital Access plan.

The Press-Republican has been part of this community for more than seven decades. Our longevity is a tribute to our subscribers, who tell us what they want. By listening, we’re able to tailor our products to meet their needs.

We are confident that we offer the most extensive network of reporters, the best and most complete New York coverage and the most responsive breaking news in the North Country.

These changes will enable us to continue to be your most trusted news source and provide resources to invest in our community.

Thank you for being a valued customer; we look forward to serving you for the next 100 years.

Best regards,
