Election Day meals offered

PLATTSBURGH — A number of churches and community organizations around the North Country are hosting Election Day meals today.

Most are dinners, but both breakfast and lunch are served in Dannemora.

Here’s a look at some of the places you can get a homemade meal today and support a fundraiser at the same time:


Ham Dinner. 4 to 7 p.m. Burke Adult Center, 1040 East Main St. $6 per person, under 5, free. Takeouts available. Benefits the Burke Adult Center.


Ham and Egg Breakfast. 6 to 10 a.m. Village Community Center, 40 Emmons St., Dannemora. $5. Sponsored by the Dannemora Fire Department.

Spaghetti Lunch. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Village Community Center, 40 Emmons St. No dessert. $5. Sponsored by the Dannemora Fire Department.

Spaghetti Dinner. 4 to 7 p.m. at the Village Community Center. Sponsored by the Fire Department. Dessert included. $8 per person or $25 per family. For takeouts, call 492-7000.


Roast Pork Supper. Takeouts, 4:30 p.m., serving starts at 5:30 p.m. First Congregational Church Parish Hall, Lewis. Adults, $9; children $5; under 5, free.


Spaghetti Dinner. 4:30 to 7 p.m. Peru Community Fellowship Center, 13 Elm St. Adults, $7; children 6 to 12, $4; under 6, free. Sponsored by the Peru Lions Club.


Turkey Dinner. 4 to 5 p.m., takeouts, sit-down dinner, 5 p.m. First United Methodist Church, 1045 Wicker St., Ticonderoga. Adults, $10; children, $5.


Roast Beef Dinner. 4:30 p.m. Westport Federated Church, 6486 Main St., Westport. Adults, $9, children 12 and under, $4.  Takeouts available. Help the local food pantry and donate nonperishable foods.


Turkey Dinner. Takeouts, 4:30 p.m.; eat-in dinner, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Whallonsburg Grange Hall, 1610 Route 22. Featuring Reber Rock Farm turkeys. $10 per person; 8 and younger, free.  


Pork Supper. 5 p.m. Whiteface Community United Methodist Church, Route 86, Wilmington. Adults, $7.50; children under 12, free.
