Village elections today

Three villages have contested races in today’s election — Saranac Lake, Rouses Point and Port Henry.

The villages of Champlain, Keeseville, Burke and Chateaugay all have candidates on the ballot, though no challengers.

The polls are open from noon to 9 p.m. in each community.

Here’s a rundown of the candidates and locations of polling places:


Mayor (two-year term): Francis “Bumper” Baker (Happy Party); George Rivers (People’s Party). 

Trustee (two, two-year seats): Brad Martin (Freedom), Sonya Rule-LaRoche (Integrity), Andrew Vincelette (Working Together).

Polls are in Halstead Hall at the Rouses Point Civic Center.


Village trustee (two, two-year seats): Amy Gehrig (Save the Kids); Tom Trombley (Citizens Union).

Polls are at the Village Office.


Village trustee (two seats that both expire Dec. 31): Kathleen Klages, Julie Lattrell.

Vote at the Keeseville Village Hall on Liberty Street.


Mayor (two-year seat): Craig Dumas.

Village trustee (two-year seat): Gary Lewis.  

Polls are at the Town Hall. 


Village trustee (two, two-year seats): Patricia Dragon.

Vote at the Village Offices. 


Village trustee (two two-year seats): Sandra Lovell (Citizens Party); Thomas McDonald (Taxpayers Party); Ruth McDonough (Citizens Party).

Polls are at the Port Henry firehouse.


Mayor (two-year term): Clyde Rabideau (D); Dianna Trummer (R).

Village trustee (two, two-year seats): Tom Catillaz (D, Saranac Lake’s Future); Garry Hoffman (R); Elias “Allie” Pelletieri (C, R, D).

Vote at Harrietstown Hall.
