Health Notes: Oct. 22, 2013

Learn about health care at information sessions

PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Chamber of Commerce is hosting a number of free information sessions for people who want to learn about the new Affordable Care Act.

Attendees will learn what’s available, and experts will explain the new Health Insurance Marketplace. 

Sessions are from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6; and noon to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20. All sessions are at the Chamber of Commerce, 7061 Route 9, Plattsburgh.

Breast-cancer fundraiser Wednesday at college

PLATTSBURGH — The SUNY Plattsburgh softball team is hosting a charity event for breast cancer from noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Alumni Conference Room at the Angell College Center on campus.

Stylists from Sassy Images will be putting in pink hair extensions for $10 for anyone interested as part of the event, called “Pink Hair for Hope.” All are encouraged to stop by and participate or to just make a donation in support of the Treasure Chests organization.
