Free workshops on energy-efficiency set in Essex County

WESTPORT — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Essex County will be conducting free energy workshops titled “Save Energy, Save Dollars.”

Attendees can learn how to reduce energy bills with low-cost, no-cost actions. Each person will receive three complimentary compact-fluorescent light bulbs to use in their homes.

The schedule is: Thursday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. in the Head Start classroom of the CVES building, Plank Road, Mineville; Thursday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Jay Community Center, 11 School Lane, AuSable Forks; and Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 5 p.m. at the Paine Memorial Library, 2 Gilliland Lane, Willsboro.

Adirondack-themed quilt show set

PLATTSBURGH — The Champlain Valley Quilters’ Guild is holding a quilt show, “Piecing the Adirondack Coast,” Saturday and Sunday.

The show is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the SUNY Plattsburgh Field House, 167 Rugar St.


Quilters’ Guild meets Wednesday

PLATTSBURGH — The Champlain Valley Quilters’ Guild’s next monthly meeting is at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Stafford Middle School, 15 Broad St.

Other meeting dates for the year include: Wednesdays, Nov. 13 and Dec. 11.
