PLATTSBURGH — Christina Ubl, CFP, CDFA, of Clute Wealth Management financial services in Plattsburgh and South Burlington, recently completed a specialized educational program and is now a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, according to owner Heidi Clute

Ubl is trained to provide financial information and assistance to people going through a divorce. She evaluates the tax implications of dividing property and the financial impact of various settlement options for dividing marital property (including pensions) and child and spousal support payments.

“At Clute Wealth Management, we help determine the short-term and long-term financial impact of a proposed divorce settlement to make sure it works now as well as down the road,” Ubl said. “We examine and analyze the financial issues of a divorce, providing our clients and their attorneys with data to help guide and support their case. We offer valuable insight into the pros and cons of different settlement options to help our clients avoid the common financial pitfalls of divorce.”

The Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA) trains professionals — financial planners, accountants and attorneys — to determine the financial needs and goals for couples after divorce.

Ubl joined Clute Wealth Management in 2000 after graduating from State University of New York at Plattsburgh with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Management. In 2001, she became a licensed insurance broker. In 2003, she became a stockbroker, in 2006 an LPL Registered Securities Principal, and in 2010 earned the designation CFP.

Clute Wealth Management is an independent firm and Registered Investment Advisor providing strategic financial and investment planning for individuals and small businesses. Securities and fee-based asset management are offered through LPL Financial. Clute Wealth Management manages more than $145 million in assets and does not sell or market proprietary products or securities.
