Free square-dancing lessons coming up 

CHAMPLAIN — The Northern Lights Square Dance Club is offering two free lessons for anyone who would like to give square dancing a try.

The lessons are from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 10 and 17, at Northeastern Clinton Central School, 103 Route 276 in Champlain. Caller is Carl Trudo. All ages are welcome, and no partner is needed.

The group has regular Saturday Dance Parties; participates in parades; and gives dance demonstrations at festivities, fairs and more.

Bluegrass, Old Time Music group to meet

TICONDEROGA — The Champlain Valley Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association will meet at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Ticonderoga American Legion, 104 Montcalm St.

Everyone is invited. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish for the buffet.
