Boil-water order issuedin Town, Village of Tupper Lake

TUPPER LAKE — The Town and Village of Tupper Lake are under a boil-water order issued on Wednesday.

The Department of Health said all water used for drinking and culinary purposes must be boiled for one minute and cooled before using.

The order was issued as a precaution due to the breakdown in chlorine disinfection treatment. It will be lifted after two consecutive days of samples with no bacteriological contamination.

Malone Central students start school Thursday, Sept. 5

MALONE — The school year for Malone Central School District kicks off for kids on Thursday, Sept. 5.

Staff returns two days earlier, when superintendent’s days take place on Tuesday, Sept. 3, and Wednesday, Sept. 4.

Agenda set for PlattsburghCommon Council meeting

PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Common Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. today at Council Chambers, City Hall.

Agenda items include a request from Club 12 of Plattsburgh Inc. to adopt green space surrounding the small Durkee Street parking lot to the river and another from Plattsburgh Rotary Club for a Sept. 22 rain date for its Bed Race.

The council will also acknowledge $8,503.91 donated to help with veterinary care for the abandoned puppies.
