---- — Wilderness first aid course offered Sept. 28 by NYSOGA

WOODGATE — A wilderness first aid course under the sponsorship of the New York State Outdoor Guides Association will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 28, at the White Otter Fish & Game Club, 10914 Woodgate Road, in Woodgate.

The course will start at 8 a.m. and last until approximately 6 p.m.

Included will be lunch and two breaks.

The class, developed by the Emergency Care and Safety Institute Education Center, is accredited by the Wilderness Medical Society, Emergency Care and Safety Institute and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Included will be: muscle, joint and bone injury; soft tissue injury; bandages and splints; sudden illness; heat and cold injury or illness; evacuation methods; prevention advice; recommended first aid supplies.

The cost for the class is $110. Anyone interested in signing up can contact instructors Sheila and Sonny Young at 359-8194 or adkfoothill@yahoo.com prior to Sept. 14.

Chazy Rod & Gun Club plans clam bake

CHAZY — A clam bake sponsored by Chazy Rod & Gun Club will be held at the Weathercock Restaurant and Bar Saturday, Sept. 7, from noon until all gone.

Michigans, hot dogs, burgers, salads, corn on the cob and salt potatoes will also be available.

A raffle will be held at 6 p.m., with live music with The Rock Bros. from 7 to 10 p.m. There will be a British encampment across the road at the Scott House.

Hunter education class scheduled

PORT HENRY — A hunter education class is slated for Sept. 17, 18 and 19 at Moriah Central School.

The class will run from 6 to 10 p.m. each night.
