Impeerium plans hike, Great Escape

PLATTSBURGH — Impeerium Peer Network will host a hike at Point au Roche State Park in Beekmantown from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, with sandwiches provided for those who register in advance (and mention dietary restrictions).

As well, the agency, which provides peer support services for people with mental-health issues, will provide transportation and a meal for a day at the Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom in Lake George on June 7. Tickets are discounted at more than 50 percent, at $25 per person. Seating is limited to 10 passengers so those who’d like to go are asked to call for a reservation as soon as possible. The van leaves Impeerium, located at Suite E, 14 Healthey Ave., Plattsburgh, at 8 a.m. and returns at 6 p.m.

To RSVP for either event or learn more about Impeerium, call 324-6250. All community events are open to the public.

Radio Day to raise funds for High Peaks Hospice

SARANAC LAKE — The 21st-annual High Peaks Hospice Radio Day will be held on Tuesday, June 4, featuring 14 hours of programming between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. on radio stations 105.5 and 102.1 FM and 1240 and 920 AM.

The broadcast will be streamed live online at www.highpeakshospice.org.

Pledges, with a goal this year of $55,000, support High Peaks Hospice & Palliative Care, the nonprofit organization that provides end-of-life services to those who are terminally ill and to their families. And the radio-thon raises public awareness of the services offered by the agency.
