---- — Concert Saturday benefits the Mission of Hope

PERU — Towne Meeting will perform a concert to benefit the North Country Mission of Hope at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Augustine’s Church, 3035 Main St.

Admission is by donation.

The five-member band’s musical roots are in folk, but the ensemble branches out into many other genres, from acoustic rock to country. Formed in Plattsburgh in 2006, the band has gained a following throughout northern New York, as well as the capital region and northern Vermont.

New summer times set for celebration of Mass

AUSABLE FORKS — Several area churches have announced a summer schedule for Mass.

In AuSable Forks, Holy Name Catholic Church, 14203 Route 9N, Mass will be celebrated at 5:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, at 8 a.m. Thursdays and Fridays, at 4 p.m. Saturdays and at 9:15 a.m. Sundays. Confessions (reconciliation) is from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m. Saturdays.

In Black Brook, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 781 Silver Lake Road, Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Sundays.

In Wilmington, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, 5789 Route 86, Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Tuesdays, 6 p.m. Saturdays and 7:30 a.m. Sundays. Confessions (reconciliation) are as requested before Mass.

First Assembly planning vacation Bible school

PLATTSBURGH — First Assembly of God church is hosting vacation Bible school from 8:30 a.m. to noon from Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28, at its 164 Prospect Ave. location.

This year’s program, “The Kingdom Chronicles,” will show children age 4 through sixth grade that the Bible is relevant today and connects to every area of their life. The brave knights and fair maidens will be equipped to put on the full armor of God so they can stand strong in the battle for truth. Children will also see the contrast between God’s kingdom and Satan’s kingdom of darkness. Activities include fun songs, daily skits and the “Truth or Error” game.
