New manager

PLATTSBURGH — TD Bank has promoted Germaine A. Hicks to store manager of the store located at 136 Margaret St. in Plattsburgh. She is responsible for new business development, consumer and business lending, managing personnel and overseeing the day-to-day operations at the store serving customers throughout Clinton County.

Hicks has 18 years of banking experience. She joined TD Bank in 1994 as a teller and later served as a customer service representative and store supervisor before the more recent position as assistant store manager.

A Plattsburgh resident, Hicks has completed the American Institute of Banking (AIB) at Clinton Community College. She is a graduate of Chazy High School.

TD Bank focuses on delivering superior customer service by providing seven-day branch banking with extended hours, Penny Arcade coin-counting machines, hassle-free products, free online banking and bill pay at, and treats for kids and dogs. Customers also have access to a network of 2,700 ATMs from Maine to Florida.

Training completed

PLATTSBURGH — Jordon Keleher and Travis Orton of Taylor Rental have completed a four-day True Value University training in Cary, Ill.

They spent Jan. 7 to 10 attending classes and lectures on many topics for the rental industry. These included safety and equipment knowledge, the rental transaction cycle and fundamental aspects of the rental business.

They left with full understanding of multiple areas they deal with daily in the customer-service aspect of the company. This knowledge will benefit the other employees who didn’t attend the training as well.

Keleher has been with Taylor Rental for two years and Orton has been with the Saranac Lake store since they opened.

Brown Bag Series

PLATTSBURGH — The Brown Bag Series is offering its 13th season of free mental-health programs for interested community members, professionals, consumers and family members.
