Bead-making

workshop offered

at BluSeed Studios

SARANAC LAKE — BluSeed Studios at 24 Cedar St. is offering two consecutive adult workshops on handmade beads during “Beads and Beyond.”

Instructor Carol Marie Vossler will teach participants how to make their own beads from various materials and then apply them to one-of-a-kind projects.

Class A will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Jan. 22, Feb. 5, Feb. 19, March 3, March 19, April 2 and April 16. Class B will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Jan. 24, Feb. 7, Feb. 21, March 7, March 21, April 4 and April 18.

The cost for the seven-class workshop is $110 plus a $20 material fee. Pre-registration is recommended, as class sizes are limited to 12 per session. For more information or to register, call BluSeed Studios at 891-3799 or email art@bluseedstudios.org.

NCCCA to host drumming circles

PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Cultural Center for the Arts at 23 Brinkerhoff St. will host two drumming circles on Saturday, Feb. 2, for youth and adults.

The first circle, which is for elementary students, will run from 11 to 11:45 a.m. The second circle is for those 15 and older and will run from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

During the program led by Heather Bartos, participants will experience playing multiple percussion instruments from around the world and collaborate on group-drumming activities.

The fee for the workshop is $4. Space is limited. For questions or to register, call the arts center at 563-1604.
