Recognition received

PLATTSBURGH — Deena Giltz McCullough, CIC, CRM, president of Northern Insuring Agency Inc., was recently recognized for professional leadership and advanced knowledge by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC), a leading national insurance professional organization.

McCullough was awarded a certificate marking more than 15 years of participation as a designated CIC, which required annual completion of advanced education and training.

“Northern Insuring’s ongoing allegiance and support of the CIC program is a testament to the value the agency places on real-world education and customer satisfaction. Clients, associates and the insurance profession as a whole will benefit from such dedication,” said Dr. William T. Hold, president of the Society of CIC.

The society is a not-for-profit organization of The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research, which is respected throughout the insurance industry for the high standards maintained in the hundreds of institutes conducted annually in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

Donations accepted

PLATTSBURGH — Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Co. is currently accepting donations for Operation Adopt A Soldier at all of its locations.

Since 2003, the Wilton-based nonprofit has been collecting supplies and shipping care packages to troops stationed overseas. The group currently mails to a list of up to 600 service members and has shipped 260,000 care packages over the last decade.

Operation Adopt A Soldier Co-Chair Terri Perry said monetary contributions are a great help, as are donations of items for the care packages.

“We couldn’t do this without the community support, and it’s been a wonderful 10 years,” Perry said. “The feedback we get from the troops is heartwarming and encouraging.”

For more information or to make a donation, stop by any Glens Falls National Bank office or call the bank at 793-4121. The organization can be reached directly to view a list of items needed for care packages by visiting operationadoptasoldier.org.
