PLATTSBURGH — Family Safety and Fun Day will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Plattsburgh Recreation Department gym, 52 U.S. Oval.
Programs and kids’ activities will include including the Therapy Donkeys from Butternut Ridge Farm, Pumpkin Painting Contest, Zumba for Kids with Lesley Ramos, Child Safety ID Cards from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
The event is hosted by STOP Domestic Violence.
Renowned children’s author to give
reading at farm
ESSEX — Award-winning illustrator and author Steven Kellogg will be bringing one of his famous stories to life today at the Lakeside School at Black Kettle Farm in Essex, one of the many family-fun activities taking place between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Harvest Hallo’ween Festival.
The whole family can enjoy wind-wand making and pumpkin and gourd painting. Homemade treats and apple cider are available.
Admission is $5 for kids, $7 for adults or $20 for the whole family. All proceeds benefit the Lakeside School.
Farm to host
MORRISONVILLE — The Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk and Goblin Gallop Kids Run will be held at noon today at Medicine Horse Farm, 38 Lizze’s Lane, Morrisonville.
Monsters will chase participants and try to capture them in the form of a flag belt.

Library to host
SARANAC LAKE — The Story Time Halloween Party, sponsored the Saranac Lake Free Library, 109 Main St., will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in the Thomas B. Cantwell Community Room.
All preschoolers are invited to join the fun with seasonal stories and festive treats. Children may come in costume if they wish.

Department plans Halloween party
KEESEVILLE — The Keeseville Volunteer Fire Department members will be hosting a Halloween Event at their Fire Station starting at 5 p.m. Oct. 31.
The members will be handing out candy and goodies to children dressed in costumes and will also have coffee, hot cider and doughnuts.
The event will continue until about 8 p.m.
The station is located at 8 Pleasant St., Keeseville.
Monster Mash to be held in Willsboro
WILLSBORO — The Monster Mash 5K or 10K event will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Noblewood Park, Willsboro, to benefit Elizabethtown Community Hospital Cancer Center.

Carousel hosting Make A Difference Day on Oct. 27
SARANAC LAKE — People who bring a donation for the food pantry to the Adirondack Carousel will get $1 rides for the entire day from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.
The Adirondack Carousel will join many others on this day to make a difference in the community.
