SLCS boards to

meet jointly

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid Central School Board and Saranac Lake Central School Board will hold a shared meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the cafeteria of Lake Placid Middle/High School, 34 School St.

A regular meeting of the Lake Placid Central School Board will follow at 7 p.m. Agenda items will include a flipped-classroom presentation and discussion on the technology infrastructure plan.


Keeseville ZBA

session canceled

KEESEVILLE — The Keeseville Zoning Board of Appeals will not meet on Wednesday as previously scheduled.

The next session is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, inthe Village Board Room at 58 Liberty St. All may attend.


Super search on SLCS Board agenda

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Central School Board will address issues including the superintendent search and personnel at a session set for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Petrova library.

The public is encouraged to attend.


Peru Central to host meet-and-greet

with superintendent

PERU — A meet-and-greet event with Dr. Patrick Brimstein, new superintendent of Peru Central School, is set for 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday in the community room located in the High School.

Light refreshments will be served at the informal event, which is open to all.


Training can help identify those

at risk of suicide

LAKE PLACID — Free suicide-prevention training is offered from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, in the Adirondack Room of the Olympic Training Center, 196 Old Military Road.

Called safeTALK, the three-hour training is provided by the Capital Region of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

It is designed to prepare anyone older than 15 to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first-aid resources.

“Most people with thoughts of suicide invite help to stay safe,” a press release said. “Alert helpers know how to use these opportunities to support that desire for safety.”
