Adirondack Youth Orchestra Association plans winter concert

PLATTSBURGH — The Adirondack Youth Orchestra Association will present a winter concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, in the Plattsburgh High School auditorium.

The program will include seasonal and holiday music for the whole family. A reception will follow.

Featured will be the association’s new vocal groups, Adirondack Youth Voices and Adirondack Youth Choir. Also performing will be the ensembles AY Strings, AY Winds, AY Mezzo and the full Adirondack Youth Orchestra.

Tickets are available at the door for $5, $3 for students and seniors.

Castaways announce rest of December schedule

PLATTSBURGH — The Castaways have several dates remaining on their December schedule.

At 2 p.m. Dec. 19, the band will appear at the Neighborhood House, Main Street, Keene Valley (576-4474); 3:30 p.m. Dec. 20, Pine Harbour Assisted Living, 15 New Hampshire Road, Plattsburgh (561-5307); 10:30 a.m. Dec. 21, Clinton County Nursing Home, Flynn Avenue, Plattsburgh (563-0950); 5 p.m. Dec. 23, Beekman Towers, 50 Truman Ave., Plattsburgh (561-5360); and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 31, Meadowbrook Healthcare, 154 Prospect Ave., Plattsburgh (563-5440).
