Auction to benefit Interfaith Food Shelf

PLATTSBURGH — Eye Care for the Adirondacks is hosting its 20th-annual auction today to benefit the Interfaith Food Shelf in Plattsburgh.

A preview of the many items up for bid starts at 3:30 p.m. at the Elk’s Club, 56 Cumberland Ave., with the auction at 4 p.m.

The event also offers a 50/50 raffle, theme gift baskets, baked goods and Christmas decorations/wrapping.

Test-drives today will benefit

United Way

PLATTSBURGH — The United Way of the Adirondack Region will benefit from free test-drives of vehicles at Plattsburgh Ford, 320 Cornelia St., between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. today.

Ford Motor Company will donate $20 per test-drive, up to $6,000, to the agency, which raises funds for many member agencies around the area. Participants must be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license. One donation is allowed per household.

City crews alter

garbage pickup

for holiday

PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Department of Public Works will change its holiday schedule for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The city crews will not be working on Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23.

The collections for Monday and Tuesday will be done on their regular days. Wednesday’s pickups will be done on Tuesday, and Thursday’s and Friday’s collections will be done on Wednesday.
