Beekmantown School Board to meet today

BEEKMANTOWN — The Beekmantown Central School Board will meet at 6:15 p.m. today in the Middle/High School library. 

Agenda items include appointments, athletic mergers, textbook adoption, confirming tax rolls and authorizing the tax levy.

Republican caucus Thursday for Town of Dannemora

DANNEMORA — The Town of Dannemora Republican Party will hold its caucus at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Town Hall.

Open positions are supervisor, highway superintendent, two Town Council seats, a justice post and town clerk/tax collector, all four-year terms.

All town Republicans are invited to attend. For more information, call party Chairman Ken Brassard at 492-2349.  

Gardenersgenerous with produce for needy

PLATTSBURGH — Local gardeners have donated more than 300 pounds of fresh produce to the Plattsburgh Plant a Row organization so far this summer.

Among those contributing to the program, which provides the fruits and vegetables to food shelves and free meal programs, have been Plattsburgh Community Garden, Agoney’s Vegetables, Gonyo Farms, United Methodist Women, the Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners program, Giroux Farms, LaMoy’s Farm, Rehoboth Farm and Juniper Hill Farm.

Produce can be dropped off at the following times and locations: 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday at the Interfaith Food Shelf, United Methodist Church, 127 Beekman Street; 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the JCEO Food Pantry, 29 Durkee St. (back door near Maui North); 9  to 11 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen, 4804 South Catherine St.; 9 to 11 a.m. Thursdays at the Clinton County Senior Center, 5139 South Catherine St.; 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays at St. Joseph’s Church, 1349 Military Turnpike; and 2 to 3 p.m. Mondays at St. Peter’s Church Soup Kitchen, 23 St. Charles St.
