Ladies Conference begins today

PERU — The Peru Church of God Woman's Ministry hosts its annual Ladies Conference with guest speaker Pastor Anna Drinkwine today, Saturday and Sunday with the theme "The Beauty of Holiness."

Tonight's program, set for 7, is open to all. Saturday workshops, for ladies only, are at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday morning meeting is 10 a.m.

Methodist churches to host Shively

MOOERS — Christian artist Hanna Shively, a storyteller/dramatist, will appear at the 9:30 a.m. service at Mooers United Methodist Church Sunday.

On Sunday, June 20, she will be at the Brainardsville United Methodist Church for a 10 a.m. combined worship service with Chateaugay Methodist Church.

All are invited; a love offering will be taken.

Christian women to gather

ESSEX — An annual gathering of Christian women of the towns of Willsboro, Essex and Westport will take place at Essex Community Church at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 23.

Guest speaker Marcia Cham will talk about her ministry to the seriously and terminally ill as chaplain of a medical center. A salad luncheon will be provided. Leave a message at 963-4445 to RSVP.

Tradition continues at Wadhams Church

WADHAMS — The annual Strawberry Festival at Wadhams United Church of Christ will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 20, in the fellowship hall behind the sanctuary, just off Route 22 at the center of Wadhams. Along with strawberry shortcake, the event will offer folk and organ music and a bake sale. Proceeds will help complete the renovation of the fellowship hall. All are welcome.

Evangelist to bring message of hope

LAKE PLACID — Evangelist Joe Cohen will appear at New Hope Fellowship, 207 Station Drive, at 7:30 tonight and 10 a.m. Sunday. A Messianic believer, he will present a message of hope and healing. Nursery service is available Sunday; luncheon will follow.

Buddist retreat set for Saturday

LAKE PLACID — The Buddhist Rising Light Sangha in Lake Placid will host a retreat from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, featuring Joel Baehr.
