Corey’s Road construction planned

HARRIETSTOWN — Road work that will interrupt travel will be done on Corey’s Road from Monday, Sept. 9, through Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Flooding during spring 2011 inundated the Corey’s Road old concrete box culvert located beneath the road, resulting in the road being closed for a short period of time.

During construction, it will not be possible for vehicles heading south (from the Route 3 direction) to travel past the culvert replacement site, and vehicles remaining on the cut-off side of the Corey’s Road, when construction begins, will not be able to travel past the construction site headed north (toward Route 3).

The town’s plan is to site a firetruck on the cut-off side of the construction site, providing adequate fire protection for that side, and to also provide pedestrian crossing, during the duration of the construction period.

For more information, contact Edwin K. Randig, code enforcement officer for the Town of Harrietstown, at 891-0202.
