Alice Hyde Nursing Home hosting special events

MALONE — The Alice Hyde Nursing Home invites the community to attend some special events.

The schedule is: 10:15 a.m. today, music with BJ Hughes on the first floor; and 10 a.m. Thursday, May 16, crafts with Holy Family kindergarten class on the ground floor.

As well, from Tuesday, May 21, through Tuesday, June 4, Young Artist in Action eight, “Generations in Action,” an art show sponsored by the Foothills Art Society, will be featured. The display of kindergarten through fifth-grade artwork is available for purchase. A closing art-show reception hosted by Holy Family School is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 4. The art exhibit will also include a generational workshop involving the children and the Alice Hyde Nursing Home residents, led by local artist Nancy Child during the closing reception.

Annual Golden Acres meeting 6:30 p.m. May 20

CHAZY — The annual Golden Acres Senior Housing meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, at the Chazy Town Hall.

The agenda includes the election of officers for the coming year and any other business that may come before the board.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Activities planned at Meadowbrook Healthcare

PLATTSBURGH — Meadowbrook Healthcare is hosting a number of activities this week.

The schedule is: 8:30 a.m. today, country breakfast with the Noon Rotary of Plattsburgh; 2:30 p.m. today, “Masquerade in May Parade” with The Castaways; 5 p.m. today, BJ Hughes on piano; 10 a.m. Friday, local daycares will visit to plant flowers with residents; 11:30 a.m. Friday, Ed Schenk on piano in Le Grand Room; 2:30 p.m. Friday, tea party with honorary guests; 1 p.m. Saturday, pinewood derby with the Cub Scouts (held in front of building or moved in Le Grand Room if raining).
