Artwork sought for LPCA exhibition

LAKE PLACID — Artists are invited to drop off works for the annual “Adirondack Juried Art Show: A Showcase of Regional Artists,” which will be on display from Friday, Sept. 13, through Saturday, Oct. 19.

The show is open to artists of all media. Interested artists may submit up to two works from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, 17 Algonquin Drive. An opening reception and awards presentation will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 13.

There is a $25 non-refundable entry fee. About $1,000 in cash and gift certificates will be awarded. For a prospectus or more information on the show, call 523-2512 or visit the LPCA from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Prospectuses are also available at www.LakePlacidArts.org.

Decentralization grant seminars offered by NCCCA

PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Cultural Center for the Arts is offering free grant seminars for artists and community groups who offer cultural community programs and arts education programs in Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties.

The NCCCA requests that all applicants attend a seminar or make a consultation appointment with Kathleen Recchia, grant coordinator. Preregister by emailing artscentergrants@gmail.com or calling 563-1604. The seminars will be for both community arts grants and arts education grants.

The decentralization grant application seminar schedule is: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, Pendragon Theatre, 15 Brandy Brook Ave., Saranac Lake; 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, NCCCA, 23 Brinkerhoff St., Plattsburgh; 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, NCCCA; 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, Whallonsburg Grange Hall, Whallonsburg; and 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, Wead Library, 64 Elm St., Malone.

The application deadline for community arts grants is 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21; and for arts education, it is 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at the NCCCA.
