Autism Awareness Walk set for Saturday

PLATTSBURGH — The Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY is hosting an Autism Awareness Walk at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, on the U.S. Oval.

Activities include children’s activities, raffles, a bake sale and resources.

Heart Walk Leadership Breakfast coming up Thursday

PLATTSBURGH — The American Heart Association is inviting local business leaders to the Heart Walk Leadership Breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday in Warren Ballrooms at the Angell College Center, SUNY Plattsburgh.

Attendees will learn about how they can become involved in the annual Heart Walk. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Eric A. Gauthier, who is the medical director of invasive cardiology at CVPH Medical Center. He will discuss the effects of coronary artery disease and why funding heart-disease research is crucial. Also in attendance will be local resident Darlene Farrer Mitchel, who will share her story about why her two sons were named this year’s Heart Heroes.
