---- — Students needed

to help design

carnival set

MALONE — A group of Foothills ARTSociety artists are encouraging students, middle-school age or older, to join them in the construction of a large “Circle of Life” relief sculpture to be part of the upcoming YMCA-sponsored Winter Carnival Revue.

This year’s theme for “Let’s Make a Scene: from Stage to Screen” is inspired by the Broadway show “Lion King.”

Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Malone YMCA, students will use primarily lightweight and recycled 3-D cardboard shapes to design their individual assemblages, which will then be incorporated into the larger sculpture.

Students of Monique Smith’s art class at Chateaugay Central School will help with project, and other students in Malone and the surrounding areas are encouraged to join in the set-design fun.

Those interested in participating should call 483-0211 to register.
