Free kayak trip for Plattsburgh residents

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks and Recreation Department will be offering a free kayak trip from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10.

The trip will start at Picketts Corners Park in Saranac and travel 6.3 miles down the river to the Cadyville Beach.

All equipment will be provided to those who need it.

Town of Plattsburgh active adults and seniors who are interested must preregister by calling 562-6860 or visiting the Recreation Department at 151 Banker Road, Plattsburgh. Space is limited.

Senior Council offering mah-jongg class

PLATTSBURGH — A beginner’s mah-jongg class will be offered at the Senior Citizens Council, 5139 N. Catherine St., from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, and Thursday, Oct. 11.

Those interesting in learning the game must attend both classes, which are free. To register, call Patti at 563-6180.

Farmers Market coupon booklets available

PLATTSBURGH — Saturday, Oct. 6, is the last day for seniors age 60 or older to take advantage of the Clinton County Farmers Market coupon booklet program.

A $20 booklet can be picked up at the Clinton County Office for the Aging, 135 Margaret St., between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The income guidelines are as follows: must be below $1,772 per month for one person or $2,333 per month for two people.

Spaghetti dinner to benefit seniors

LYON MOUNTAIN — The American Legion in Lyon Mountain is hosting an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, to benefit Mountain Top Senior Housing.

The cost is $9 for adults, $5 for children age 5 to 12, and free for those under age 5. Takeouts are also available.

All are welcome.
