---- — Caregivers support group to meet

PLATTSBURGH — Behavioral Heath Services North will hold two discussion groups for unpaid caregivers.

The first is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at the United Way Building in Plattsburgh. The second group is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Emmaus Room at St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh. There is also a telephone support group from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17.

The discussion groups are open to anyone providing unpaid care to an aging family member or friend.

Busy B’s plan trip to Depot Theater

BEEKMANTOWN — The Beekmantown Busy B’s senior group will have a buffet lunch at the Westport Hotel and then attend a matinee performance of “Boeing-Boeing” at the Depot Theater on July 20.

A bus will leave the Town Hall at 11:45 a.m.

Lunch will be at 1 p.m. and the play begins at 3 p.m.

Price for members is $32 and guests, $48.

Senior trip to see ‘Rumors’ play

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh is sponsoring a trip to St. Michael’s Playhouse in Vermont on July 20. 

The group will have lunch first at Zachary’s restaurant and then see the play “Rumors.” This day program is open first to any Town of Plattsburgh senior citizen and then to all other county senior citizens if space is available.

The town will provide the coach-bus cost, with each senior responsible for paying $40 for the lunch and tickets to the play. 

The bus will be leaving the mall parking lot at 11 a.m. and return at 6 p.m.

Pre-registration and pre-payment are mandatory before Monday, July 15. 

You may register by calling the Recreation Office at 562-6860 or stopping by between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Computer classes for seniors set for July 22, 24

PLATTSBURGH — A two-day computer class will be given July 22 and 24 from 9 to 11 a.m. The subject will be: “Improving Your Skills Using the Word Processor.”

Computers will be available. Subjects to be covered are: setting margins, page orientation, saving your work before and after it is completed, setting fonts and sizes of fonts, printing, and easier and better ways to use the computer.

‘Making and Using a Spreadsheet’ class offered

PLATTSBURGH — A two-day computer class will be given on July 29 and 31 from 9 to 11 a.m. The subject will be “Making and Using a Spreadsheet.”

The items to be covered will be: reasons to use a spreadsheet; how to set up a spreadsheet and work with it; alphabetizing, gridlines, auto fill and many other actions to fit your needs; and working with numbers — addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Beginners class offered for Senior Computer Club

PLATTSBURGH — The computer classes that are presented by the Senior Citizen’s Computer Club will start a new Beginners Class consisting of 16 sessions meeting each Monday and Wednesday in August from 9 to 11 a.m.

Start date is Aug. 5.
