Nazarene church hosting Parents’ Night Out

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Church of the Nazarene, 187 Broad St., will host Parents’ Night Out from 6 to 9 tonight.

All community children ages infant through sixth grade are invited to a free night of pizza, gym games, pumpkin crafts and a special visit from Ish Kabibble. Children are asked to wear or bring sneakers.

Debt-free church plans mortgage burning

PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Alliance Church is holding a mortgage-burning ceremony, in honor of their mortgage being paid in full as of August, immediately following its 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday, Oct. 7.

The community is invited to Sunday school at 9:30 a.m., worship at 10:30, the special ceremony and then a potluck lunch to follow.

Pancake fundraiser Sunday

LAKE PLACID — St. Agnes School at Hillcrest and Saranac avenues is hosting an all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Oct. 7.

The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children. A 2012 Chevy Malibu will also be raffled. The event is sponsored by the Catholic Daughters of St. Agnes Parish. Funds raised go to their charitable work.

Dinner to help St. Ann’s

ST. REGIS FALLS — St. Ann’s Society will be holding a roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at St. Ann’s Church Parish Hall on North Main Street.

The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children under 12 and free for those under age 5. Takeouts will also be available by calling 651-1886. Proceeds go to the St. Ann’s Society at St. Ann’s Church.

A 50/50 raffle is also planned.

Parish residents are encouraged to assist in any way possible for the annual event. Help is needed on Saturday and Sunday. Call Janet Richards at 856-9663 to help.

Guest to speak in Westport

WESTPORT — Dr. Arnold G. Fruchtenbaum will speak at the Westport Bible Church, 24 Youngs Road on Sunday, Oct. 7, through Wednesday, Oct. 10.

Services will be held at 9:15 a.m., 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday; and at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Fruchtenbaum will be speaking on the “8 Mysteries of the New Testament.”
