Social Security beneficiary outreach Wed.

PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Workforce Investment Board and One Work Source Center are hosting a beneficiary outreach from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at North Country One Work Source, Room 220, 194 US Oval.

The event will give attendees the opportunity to learn about the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work Program, which provides incentives to beneficiaries who are interested in employment. Attendees will learn how working will impact Social Security disability benefits and health insurance from Social Security, as well as information about work incentives that Social Security offers its beneficiaries.

Additionally, Chelsea Scheefer, the disability resource coordinator, will be available to offer supports such as career counseling, job search assistance, resume writing, interview skills, referral to community resources, Social Security Administration disability benefits advisement and individualized job development.

Funds from Zumba class to benefit needy

ELIZABETHTOWN — The Elizabethtown Social Center is adding a Wednesday Zumba Fitness Class to its schedule.

The class will be held at 3 p.m. at Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School. The cost is $8 per class or $20 for the Nov. 28; Dec. 5, 12 and 19 classes.

All proceeds from Nov. 28 through Dec. 19 benefit the High School Secret Santa program led by ELCS English teacher Sarah Rice. The program provides Christmas gifts for needy families.
