Craft fair set for June 14 at mall

PLATTSBURGH — The Senior Citizen Council in Plattsburgh will hold a craft fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at the Champlain Centre mall.

All items for sale will be made by a member of the Senior Council and donated, including framed artwork, crocheted items, stained glass projects and knitted items.

Raffle tickets for a prize from the Monday morning quilters will also be available. Tickets are on sale now through June 20; cost is three tickets for $1.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the roof repair fund.


BHSN planssupport groups

PLATTSBURGH — Behavioral Health Services North has announced two discussion groups for all unpaid caregivers of anyone 60 or older: from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at the United Way building, 45 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh; and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, in the Emmaus Room at St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh.

Guest speaker Nancy Taylor from Tender Care Home Health Service will be at the June 25 group.

In addition, a telephone support group will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 18.

These groups are open to anyone providing unpaid care to an aging family member or friend.

Beginner computer class offered

PLATTSBURGH — The next beginners computer class at the Senior Center in Plattsburgh will start at 9 a.m. Monday, July 7.

This class, which is free, usually runs six weeks.

Preregister by calling Len at 572-0800 or the Senior Center at 563-6180.
