Peru School Board meeting, budget hearing set

PERU — Peru Central School Board will hold its monthly meeting and annual budget hearing at 6 tonight in the community room of Peru Junior/Senior High School.

An executive session connected with the employment history of specific personnel will take place immediately after the meeting starts.

The board is slated to reconvene for public session at about 7 p.m.

Agenda items include the budget public hearing, student recognition, the academic calendar for 2014-15 and a public hearing on the Code of Conduct.

Beekmantown has full agenda for meeting

BEEKMANTOWN — Beekmantown Central School Board will meet at 6:15 tonight in the auditorium.

Agenda items include a Dignity For All Students presentation, policies and financial reports.

A hearing will be held at 7 p.m. on the 2014-15 proposed budget.

Elected members of the School Board will be available from 6 to 6:15 p.m. to meet and greet district residents.

Absentee ballots due for City School Board race

PLATTSBURGH — Absentee ballots are available in the Plattsburgh City School District office of the district clerk.

Any person who will be unable to vote in person due to illness or disability; because that person will be hospitalized, out of the county or city on business, studies or vacation; or in jail for any reason other than as the result of being convicted of a felony, is eligible.

Completed absentee applications must be received by the district clerk by 4 p.m. today if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter.

Completed applications received after 4 p.m. today will require the voter personally appear at the clerk’s office to receive an absentee ballot.

Completed absentee ballots must be received in the District Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, to be counted.
