Adirondacks’ Forgiven to hold ‘Run For the Son’

SARANAC — The Christian Motorcyclists Association Local Chapter, Adirondacks’ Forgiven, in Plattsburgh will host an event Saturday, May 3, with a cook-out, live music and motorcycle ride to support “Run For the Son,” a national fundraiser for missions and ministry.

The event will be held at the American Legion, Post 1618, 275 Wilson Road, Saranac. Registration is at 10 a.m.; ride leaves at 11 a.m.

Cost is a donation of $10 per rider, $5 per passenger; walk-ins are $10 and children get free admission.

House of Prayer will hold retreat

ELLENBURG CENTER — Our Lady of the Adirondacks House of Prayer will hold an Ignatian Retreat — Discernment of Spirits from 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, through 5 p.m. Sunday, May 4.

This time of prayer and learning will be based on St. Ignatius of Loyola’s Rules for Discernment, covering 14 rules, a press release states. The message is freedom from captivity to discouragement and deception in the spiritual life.

Rooms are available for overnight guests on a first-come, first-served basis.

Suggested donation for the weekend is $60. Overnight guests add $50.

St. Bernard’s council plans Gala

SARANAC LAKE — The St. Bernard’s Education Council will host its annual Gala at 6 p.m. Friday, May 2, at the Harrietstown Town Hall.

This year’s theme is the Rockin’ Fifties.

The event kicks off with a buffet, followed by an auction and dancing. Beer and wine will also be available.

Tickets to the event start at $50 per person and sponsorships are available from $50 to $1,000.

St. Peter’s Parishto recognize Divine Mercy

PLATTSBURGH — St. Peter’s Parish will celebrate Divine Mercy on Sunday, April 27.

From 12:15 to 2:30 p.m. will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
