LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid Village Cleanup, sponsored by the Lake Placid Garden Club, is set for Saturday, April 20, with a rain date of April 27.

The event, held annually for more than 50 years, brings out residents, local service organizations and businesses to clean the streets and generally spruce up the community.

Registration is at the Olympic Oval Skating Building from 9 to 10 p.m. At registration, participants will sign up to join or lead a group, be assigned an area, pick up bags, lunch tickets and recycling information.

All participants should wear gloves. A pizza and sandwich snack for volunteers will be offered following the cleanup at the Peacock Village Beach. Preregistration for neighborhoods and specific streets can be done by contacting the organizers before this Thursday.

In case of inclement weather, updates will be announced on WSLP FM 93.3 radio.
