Doctor to speak about health and aging

SARANAC LAKE — “Living Healthy As We Age,” a free presentation by Dr. Taher Zandi, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Third Age Adult Day Center at Lake Colby School, 26 Trudeau Road.

Attendees will learn how to reduce the risk factors that may lead to dementia and depression. Free mood and memory screenings will also be available after the presentation.

Preregistration is required by Thursday, Aug. 8. Call the Eastern Adirondack Health Care Network at 564-3371 to sign up.

Free hearing screenings part of open-house event

PLATTSBURGH — Pro-Care Hearing is inviting residents to a open house from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday, Aug. 2, at its Plattsburgh and Malone offices.

Attendees will receive free hearing screenings and consultations with one of the Pro-Care Hearing’s New York state licensed hearing aid dispensers. A representative from Siemens, a hearing aid technology company, will be on site for three days. 

Those interested can call 483-6995 or 563-1748, or visit the Plattsburgh location at 245 Tom Miller Road or the Malone location at 4091 Route 11. 

There will be free gifts and refreshments.
