Antiques Show and Sale coming up

BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE — An Antiques Show and Sale is set for the weekend of Aug. 11 and 12 at the Adirondack Museum.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, dealers in quality antiques and art from across the country will feature antiques in the Adirondacks. Visitors will see camp, cottage and Mission furniture; historical fine art; militaria; folk art; vintage boats; taxidermy; quilts; oriental rugs; vintage clothing; and Native American jewelry and artifacts.

Visitors interested in an early buying opportunity can visit from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11; tickets will be available at the door for $30 or online at for $25. Attendance during the regular Show and Sale hours is free with admission.

Garden Club’s annual luncheon

WESTPORT — The annual Elizabethtown-Westport Garden Club Fashion Show Luncheon fundraiser starts at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at the Westport Inn and Tavern.

Lunch will be served at noon. The Bessboro Shop in Westport will be modeling their new fall fashions. There will be door prizes, filled baskets and gift raffles.

Reservations are required. Tickets are $22 and can be purchased at the Bessboro Shop or by calling 962-8348. Proceeds go to support the Garden Club’s many community beautification projects, education and programs.

AuSable Forks

AUSABLE FORKS — A farmers market is held from 3 to 6 p.m. each Friday through August in the parking lot of Riverside Park, next to the Grand Union here.

The market full is sponsored by the Town of Jay and Ausable Valley Grange to promote locally grown agricultural products, organic farming and gardening, and better land stewardship.

Music-in-the-Park is also offered, with performances by Lisa Meissner on Aug. 17 and Shelving Rock on Aug. 31.
