CCC Board of Trustees to adopt budget

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton Community College Board of Trustees will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, in the board room.

Agenda items include adoption of the 2013-13 budget, the tuition and fee schedule and awarding of a contract for paper.

The meeting is open to all.

Willsboro School Board plans retreat

WILLSBORO — The Willsboro School Board will hold its annual retreat on Tuesday, July 16.

The retreat will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Essex Inn in Essex, and no action will be taken, according to a news release from the school.

Saranac Lake School Board meeting set

SARANAC LAKE — Saranac Lake School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, in the High School auditorium.

Agenda items include possible changes in health insurance for retirees, a presentation on the algebra Common Core curriculum and the Spanish Club trip to Ecuador and discussion of cafeteria prices.

The meeting is open to all.

Cemetery meeting coming up forPoint au Roche group

POINT au ROCHE — The Point au Roche Cemetery Association will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 18.

Free training to identify invasives planned

KEENE VALLEY — The Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program is hosting aquatic invasive-animal identification training 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at Paul Smith’s College.

Aquatic Invasive Species Project Coordinator Meghan Johnstone and Mark Malchoff, aquatic resources specialist for the Lake Champlain Sea Grant Program, will train participants on how to identify aquatic invasive animals, such as Asian clam and spiny water flea, and how to perform simple scans to detect their presence.

Volunteers can play a critical role in protecting Adirondack waters from aquatic invasions, organizers said.

The training is free, but space is limited. RSVP by July 25 to Meghan Johnstone at mjohnstone@tnc.org or 576-2082 Ext. 119.
