War of 1812 Museum closed for July 4

PLATTSBURGH — The War of 1812 Museum will be closed Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

The museum will reopen at 10 a.m. Saturday July. Normal business hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.

Adirondack Regional Theatre announces ‘Little Mermaid’ dates

PLATTSBURGH — Adirondack Regional Theatre will present Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” at four different locations in the North Country this July.

Performances of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” will occur in Rouses Point at the Samuel De Champlain Stage at 6:30 p.m. Thursday July 10; at 6 p.m. July 12 at the Peru Community Church Fellowship Hall; at 6 p.m. July 13 at Amazing Grace Vineyard & Winery; and at Champlain Centre mall (in front of JCPenney) at 11a.m. and 2 p.m. July 19.

The theater is presenting “The Little Mermaid Jr.” as its first show of the ART Young Director’s Series. The first Young Director is Mason Barber, an eighth-grade student from the Peru Central School District.

The Adirondack Regional Theatre cast contains 28 actors.

Rouses Point History, Welcome Center ready

ROUSES POINT — The Rouses Point History and Welcome Center, 88 Pratt St., will be open to the public for the first time from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, July 4, and Saturday, July 5.

The former D&H Railroad Station has been renovated and will operate as a History and Welcome Center overseen by members of the Rouses Point-Champlain Historical Society.
