Hydrant-flow program continues today

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh City Fire Department is continuing its hydrant water-flow program, inspecting hydrants and letting them flow for three to five minutes.

The program takes place between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

As hydrants are allowed to flow, the water in the system will be stirred up and may appear cloudy or rust colored as it comes from taps. Bathing and washing clothing should be avoided during that time.

Motorists are asked to take care when driving past a flowing hydrant and the Fire Department personnel conducting the inspection.

Today’s streets are: Main Mill, Wall, Plant, Sara, South Peru, Kim, Sharron and Tyrell.
