Town of Plattsburgh plans kayak trip

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks & Recreation Department is offering a kayak trip to all Town of Plattsburgh active adults and seniors from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 17.

The trip, approximately 2.5 hours, will start at the Saranac Boat Launch (Bowen Road) and travel down the river to the Cadyville Beach.

All equipment will be provided to those who need it. Those with their own equipment are welcome to join the leisurely paddle. 

If using the town's equipment, there will be a $10 nonrefundable registration fee for adults and a $5 registration fee for seniors.

All participants must preregister for the trip and can do so by calling the Town of Plattsburgh Parks & Recreation Department at 562-6860 or registering online at www.townofplattsburghrecreation.com. Space is limited.

Charlie Stone & Split Rock announce July performances

PLATTSBURGH — Charlie Stone & Split Rock's July show schedule has been released.

Here are the dates for the traditional country gigs: 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 11, Pine Harbour Assisted Living, 15 New Hampshire Road (561-5307); 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 18, Evergreen Valley Nursing Home, 8 Bushey Blvd. (563-3261); and 6 p.m. Thursday, July 31, Vilas Home; 61 Beekman St. (563-4960).
