Wilmington Holiness Camp scheduled

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Interdenominational Holiness Camp will hold its 110th camp meetings July 11 through 20.

This year’s meetings will feature Evangelist Rev. Mike and Elizabeth Adams, who are no strangers to the folks from upstate New York, a press release states. Mike has pastored for more than 20 years and is now a full-time evangelist with the Church of the Nazarene.

The musicians will be Lynette and Shane Cherry and family. Lynette is the great-granddaughter of Halsey Haselton, one of the founding fathers of the camp.

Evening services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday services are held 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Meals are served daily for reasonable donations.

Youth camp speaker will be the Rev. Jay Trainer, who is currently the director of the Infuzion Program and resides in Rochester. Youth camp will be from July 14 through 19. Cost is $90; applications (online at are required. Scholarship money is available to help deserving teens to attend camp at a reduced rate. Inquiries can be made to Joyce Terry at 637-7899. Teens who have finished sixth grade through high school graduation this year are welcome to be a part of the camp.

From July 14 through 19, Clif Patnode will be leading Bible Study at 10 a.m. in the Children’s Tabernacle. PowerPoint presentations and study guides will present the theme “What Jesus said about the future.” The community is invited to attend.

Peru Church fundraising enough for students’ tuition

PERU — Peru Community Church raised enough money in a recent fund drive to cover a year’s tuition for more than •17 students at Evon Grant Basic School in Jamaica.

It costs $25 per term for a child to attend the school, according to Harriet Burrell, who with her husband, George, heads the annual Jamaica Mission undertaken by the church in Peru.
