---- — Community Baby Shower set for Friday
PLATTSBURGH — A Community Baby Shower will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 28, at the City Recreation Department Gym, 52 U.S. Oval.
Anyone who has a baby, is expecting or would like to learn more about caring for babies is welcome to attend. Kids and family are welcome.
Attendees can learn about community resources, get giveaways and prizes, get information on caring for babies, play baby games, do parent and baby yoga and make homemade baby toys. The event is being put on by Behavioral Health Services North, and a number of community organizations are involved.
Family Heritage Interview Series being offered
PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Historical Association’s Education Committee is presenting a “Clinton County Family Heritage Interview Series for Kids” throughout the summer.
The program series is part of a larger oral-history project under way at the museum. Children will be able to interview a member of their family and to have the interview recorded and added to the association’s collection. Participants can arrange to pick up a copy of the interview at a later date for their family’s personal collection.
The program is being offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, June 29, July 27, Aug. 31 and Sept. 28, at the Clinton County Historical Museum, 98 Ohio Ave. There will be six 30-minute interview segments per program. Preregistration is required.
The Series for Kids is partially funded by a $400 grant from the Stewart’s Shops’ Holiday Match Program, which was awarded in March 2013.

Saranac Lake Youth Program holding registration
SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Area Youth Program is open to all children ages 7 to 13 who are residents of the Saranac Lake Central School District.
The program will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with breakfast served from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m., July 8 through Aug. 9.
Children must be registered to participate in the program. The registration fee is $60 per child living within contributing municipalities and $80 per child living outside contributing municipalities.
The towns of North Elba, Harrietstown and Brighton, the Village of Saranac Lake, the Saranac Lake Central School District and many local people, organizations and business sponsor this program,
If children are not registered by June 30, there will be a two-day waiting period before they are admitted into the camp to allow examination of the child’s records and placement in the camp.
Registration forms are now available at any elementary school main office, middle school main office or at the Saranac Lake Village Office.
