Public immunization clinic plannedin Franklin County

SARANAC LAKE — Franklin County Public Health Services will be holding an immunization clinic from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at 136 Broadway.

A parent with current immunization records must accompany all children. Vaccines will also be available for children and young adults. Vaccine is also available for children 18 and under who do not have insurance to cover their vaccinations.

Adirondack Health offering athletic training program

LAKE PLACID — Adirondack Health’s Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Department is offering a six-week summer program called “SPEED” for area high-school athletes starting Monday, June 24.

During the program, athletes ages 14 to 18 will build a base for training with a focus on proper technique to develop strength and power at the U.S. Olympic Training Center’s International Weight Room in Lake Placid. Participants will have the opportunity to improve their abilities where national and international athletes train year-round. There will be a number of guest instructors from the Training Center to lend their expertise.

Times offered are noon to 1 p.m. or 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, June 24 through July 31. Depending on enrollment, sessions may be held at both times.

The cost is $249 for 12 sessions.
