---- — Holiday bazaar Saturday at Ticonderoga church

TICONDEROGA — The Episcopal Church of the Cross, 129 Champlain Ave., will host its annual holiday bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. 

The bazaar features holiday crafts and decorations, collectibles, jewelry, children’s toys and games, books, a “cookie walk” and more. There will also be raffles for a turkey basket, which includes a turkey and all the fixings for a holiday dinner and a lottery tree filled with dozens of unscratched lottery tickets. Lunch will be served till 1 p.m. and includes homemade soups, chili, michigan hot dogs, potato salad, chips and more.

Changes to Mass schedule announced

WEST CHAZY — The weekend schedule for the celebration of Mass has changed for the parishes of St. Joseph’s in West Chazy and Sacred Heart in Chazy.

At St. Joseph’s Church, the Saturday Anticipate Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. and Sunday Mass is celebrated at 10 a.m.At Sacred Heart Church, the Saturday Anticipate Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. and Sunday Mass is celebrated at 8 a.m.

Talk to focus on Holy Family

ELLENBURG CENTER — The Rev. Ted Crosby will give an upcoming talk on the Holy Family and the Spirituality of Bethlehem House and how it can be translated into homes, families and communities.

“Reflection on the Holy Family and Bethlehem House” is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Our Lady of the Adirondacks House of Prayer, 7270 Star Road, Route 190. The talk is followed by a celebration of Mass and lunch.

Collection week starts Nov. 18 for shoe-box gifts

PLATTSBURGH — National collection week for Operation Christmas Child runs from Monday, Nov. 18, to Monday, Nov. 25.

Volunteers are invited to pack shoe boxes with toys, school supplies and hygiene items for needy children overseas. They boxes can be dropped off at the First Assembly of God, 164 Prospect Ave., Plattsburgh from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 18 through 22, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 23, 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 24 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 25.

Collections at Westport Bible Church, 24 Youngs Road, Westport, will be taken from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 18 through 22, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 23, 1 to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 24 and 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 25.

Collections at Christ & St. John’s Episcopal/Anglican Church, 18 Butternut St., Champlain, will be taken from 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 18 through 23, noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 24 and 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 25.

The year-round project of international relief aid organization Samaritan’s Purse is headed by the Rev. Franklin Graham. Anyone can drop off a packed shoe box at the Plattsburgh collection site. Then, using whatever means necessary — trucks, trains, boats, bikes and even elephants — the shoe-box gifts will be hand-delivered to hurting children in 100 countries around the world.

Donations needed for mitten tree project

BRAINARDSVILLE — The United Methodist Women of the Brainardsville United Methodist Church are sponsoring their 20th year of the mitten tree project.

Donations of new hats, mittens, scarves, gloves and money will be greatly appreciated. The items will be given to area children and adults alike. Money received will be used to supply extra hats, mittens, gloves and other necessary needs.
