PLATTSBURGH — The Sarah S. Vert Student Aid Fund and the General Harry E. Knight Scholarship Fund are accepting applications from students in Clinton County.

The purpose for the Vert Fund is to help worthy but needy students earn a college education. Worth and need alone are the determining factors in granting aid from this fund.

The Knight Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to needy and deserving graduates of Clinton County high schools — public, private or parochial — who will attend Cornell University at Ithaca.

To apply, mail separate applications to the acting secretary, James M. Short, Plattsburgh City School District, 49 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901, no later than May 1.

Applications must be made in writing and must contain a clear statement of the circumstances that make financial assistance necessary. The applicant must also indicate the college to be attended. The funds at the disposal of the Vert and Knight committees are limited. Complete application is necessary to ensure consideration.
