Rouses Point takes part in tree program

ROUSES POINT —The New York Power Authority and the New York State Nursery and Landscape Association have invited the Village of Rouses Point to participate in the 2013 Tree Power Program again this year.

The special tree offer lets you “buy one, get one free or at reduced cost.”

Many tree selections are being matched by the Power Authority for free. Again, this year, more options for larger trees are available, which the authority will match at a reduced cost. As in the past, the Village Board has invited the residents to participate in the program.

The costs of trees are $85 for 1.5-inch caliper (diameter) or 4/5 foot tall and $170 for the 2.5-inch caliper or 8-to-10 foot high.

The tree purchase deadline is April 15. For more information, call the Village Office at 297-5502.
