City School Board to meet tonight

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh City School Board will meet tonight at the Duken Building at 49 Broad St.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. with an executive session. The board will return to public session at 7:30 p.m. for a report on the 2013-14 budget. Other personnel and business items will be reviewed also.

Westport School Board schedules sessions today

WESTPORT — Westport Central School Board has scheduled two upcoming meetings.

The board will hold a budget meeting at 5:30 p.m. today in room 112, followed by its regular meeting. Agenda items include budget discussion, a presentation to the school by the Westport Fire Department and appointments.

The School Board will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in room 112.

Agenda items include the 2013-14 budget adoption, election of a Champlain Valley Educational Services Board member and the CVES budget vote.

All meetings are open to the public.


Plattsburgh Common Council to act on sweeper

PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Common Council will take action on several items at tonight’s meeting.

Among them are approving a contract for a vacuum street sweeper be awarded to Cyncon Equipment Inc. for the price of $198,700 and approving a change order request from the Municipal Lighting Department for relay testing at a cost of $16,607.39.

The meeting begins with a work session at 5 p.m., followed by the regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Both meetings are open to the public.


Winter Farmers Market to wind up for season

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Winter Farmers Market will end its 2012–2013 season this Saturday with one last session from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Plattsburgh City Recreation Center, 52 U.S. Oval. 

The market is a “producer-only” event, meaning the farmers actually produce what they sell.
