Hospice planning memorial gathering

PORT HENRY — High Peaks Hospice & Palliative Care will hold a special memorial gathering open to Hospice families and the general public at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 72 S. Main St.

Hospice patients who have died between Jan. 1 and June 30 will be honored. The public is warmly welcomed to attend the gathering, and time will be allowed for their remembrances also. Each person will be remembered by name, and loved ones will be invited to light a candle in memory.

High Peaks Hospice and Palliative Care is a rural, nonprofit health-care corporation, certified and licensed by New York state.

Rotary raising funds for Malone youth

MALONE — The Malone Rotary Fall Blast is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Malone Golf Club, 79 Golf Course Road.

The fundraiser benefits the Malone community youth. Tickets for two cost $100 and include a buffet dinner; dancing to Slab City; and a reverse lottery with a grand prize of $700, second prize of $300, third prize of $200 plus three $100 drawings.
