Pampering session today for area caregivers

TUPPER LAKE — During national Hospice month, High Peaks Hospice and Palliative Care is thanking those in the community who have supported the nonprofit financially or by volunteering.

As part of the group’s celebration, High Peaks is offering a Caring for the Caregiver Day at the Ivy Terrace Community Room, 38 Boyer Ave., Tupper Lake from 1 to 4 p.m. today.

The event is an afternoon of pampering for caregivers. The event is free and open to all.

Broadway trip itinerary changed due to storm

NEW YORK — The Elizabethtown Social Center’s trip to New York City has been rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy, and a limited number of seats have become available.

The trip, in conjunction with North Wind Tours, has been rescheduled for the weekend of Jan. 12 and 13. Transportation, orchestra tickets to “Mamma Mia!” on Broadway, one night hotel accommodations, Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast are included in the cost of $341 per person. The price is based on double occupancy. Sightseeing and stops of interest will depend on weather and other variables. Transportation is via Luxury Motor Coach, departing from Willsboro and Elizabethtown.
