Church plans special worship series

PLATTSBURGH — Lutheran Church of the Redeemer at 10 Adirondack Lake will be hosting Soup ‘N Supper Taize Worship services during Lent.

On Wednesdays from Feb. 20 to March 20, the community is welcome to join in fellowship and worship, with a light supper at 6 p.m. and worship at 7:15 p.m.

Taize worship, which originates from the Taize region in southern France, is characterized by silent, peaceful prayer, easy-to-learn musical chants, silent meditation and scripture readings.

St. Peter’s announces adoration schedule

PLATTSBURGH — St. Peter’s Church at 114 Cornelia St. is offering Daily Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament during Lent.

The weekday adoration schedule is 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays and from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during Lent. It will end with benediction at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4.

Nazarene church hosting Parents’ Night Out

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Church of the Nazarene, 187 Broad St., will host Parents’ Night Out from 6 to 9 Friday, March 1.

All community children ages infant through sixth grade are invited to a free night of pizza, a special demonstration with Villari’s Studio of Self Defense, crafts and more. Children are asked to wear or bring sneakers.

Ecumenical Lenten services set for Intertfaith Council

PLATTSBURGH — The Interfaith Council of Plattsburgh and Clinton County begins its annual ecumenical Lenten services this week at the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church, 127 Beekman St.

All services are from noon to 12:30 p.m. Fridays, followed by a light lunch in the church’s Social Hall prepared by the United Methodist Women.

The speaking schedule is: the Rev. Colin Belton of Trinity Episcopal Church, today; the Rev. Roger McGuinness of St. Joseph’s in West Chazy, Feb. 22; Dorothy Latta of Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, March 1; the Rev. Marion M. Moore-Colgan of Plattsburgh UMC, March 15; and the Rev. James Horton of First Baptist Church in Plattsburgh, March 22.
