Budget work on Beekmantown School agenda

BEEKMANTOWN — The Beekmantown Central School Board will hold a special meeting at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in the Middle/High School library. 

Agenda items include the 2013-2014 budget work session.

Earlier Tuesday, at 5 p.m., the board’s Policy Committee will meet at 5 p.m. in the buildings-and-grounds office to discuss charging for school meals and for a public forum.

BOCES session rescheduled for Wednesday

PLATTSBURGH — The regular January meeting of the Board of Cooperative Educational Services of the Sole Supervisory District of Franklin, Essex and Hamilton Counties (BOCES) at the Adirondack Educational Center in Saranac Lake was canceled and is rescheduled for 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

It can be seen via videoconference at the Saranac Lake center and North Franklin Educational Center in Malone. 

Eat out Wednesday to benefit United Way

PLATTSBURGH — Dine out at participating restaurants on Wednesday and help United Way of the Adirondack Region at the same time.

Numerous eateries in Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties are taking part in the third-annual DINE UNITED event, with either a percentage of their proceeds, of the wait staff tips or a straight donation going the the agency, which helps fund 41 partner agencies that help the community in various ways.

Restaurants can still participate by calling 563-0028.

Diners who mention they are there to “DINE UNITED” will be entered in a drawing for prizes that include New York Giants and New York Jets footballs signed by the 2012 teams, two Buffalo Bills photos signed by C.J. Spiller and Marcell Dareus, Gift Certificates from Mickey’s, Nine Platt, Anthony’s and other prizes.
